Since 1991 UKIEW has been at the forefront of providing vital support to parents who desire to see the beautiful fruits of Islamic education in their own children, but are unable to pay the required fees, as well as helping community based education projects directly. Every year we collect both Zakah and Sadaqah, adhering to the rules of the Shari'ah, and then distribute it according to the needs of our applicants.
By establishing Muslim Schools and struggling to maintain and develop a high standard of educational provision, we are surely setting the right example of good practice which is increasingly being acknowledged by others within the mainstream education system.
The high proportion of success rate in academic achievements and better outcomes of social behaviour; spiritual, moral, cultural, and emotional development of children who attend Muslim schools is having a profound and positive impact on educational theory and practice in this country.
Most applicants who apply for Financial Assistance fall into the following Categories:
- Orphans whose careers apply on their behalf
- Single mothers bringing up children under considerable financial hardship, including widows in the poverty trap
- Unemployed carers going through hard times
- Families with several children being educated in a Muslim school
- Parents who wish to educate their children Islamically and to bring them up as good Muslims but who cannot afford school fees
